Who we are.

Oakland Brewing Company (OBC) was conceived many years ago when its principal founders, the partners behind Building Your Oakland Breweries LLC, separately determined to establish a brewery in Oakland, California. Within a short time, the partners of BYOB LLC came together to pool their talents and make their dreams reality. To this end, BYOB LLC filed formal Articles of Incorporation as a California Limited Liability Company with the State of California on February 5, 2008 and was subsequently issued a business license in the City of Oakland on February 21, 2008.

What we do.

Simply put, Oakland Brewing Company seeks to expand the market for quality, craft beer choices in Oakland, California. OBC seeks to reinvigorate Oakland’s once proud brewing heritage, and to offer the community locally produced products long missing from the marketplace. The Brewery is committed to incorporating its manufacturing operations into the fabric of the community, and plans to actively distribute its ales and lagers to local taverns, restaurants and retailers while participating in events designed to increase community awareness about beer and its history in Oakland.
